Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
Build and stand firm upon the strong foundations of the Lord. Otherwise you will find yourself unstable, unsettled, and an easy target for the wicked.
2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
As believers our faith is founded on the very words of God. In the King James Bible we have these words preserved for us today.
Psalm 10:2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
The bible continually warns us of wicked people who seek to prey on the innocent. Take heed of the warnings to protect your family from harm, and seek to overcome any wicked way in you.
Numbers 14:18 The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
Longsuffering is the ability to be patient in the midst of pain or difficulties. One of the more challenging fruits to master but possible through the working of the Spirit.
Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
Jesus Christ was obedient unto death, placing the will of God the Father above his own. We are given this example to examine whether our own will is subject to the will of God.
