2 Corinthians 10:17 But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
A significant difference between a godly man and a carnal man is in what they boast about. The carnal man will boast of himself, but the godly man will glory in the Lord.
1 Timothy 5:14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
Woman was created by God with specific abilities and instinctive goals: these include getting married, having children, and guiding their home. All women seek these things for fulfilment in life despite what the feminist says.
2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Giving financially to a needful cause is one thing, but HOW you give is just as important. The Lord is the one who provides your finances and also supplies your every need.
Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Man was created in the image of God with specific abilities and instinctive goals: these include being a hard worker, finding a wife, and leading their family. Excluding the biblical eunuch, all men seek these things for fulfilment in life.
2 Corinthians 8:2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
One way to show love and fellowship from one church to another is to take up a financial collection in their time of need. But do not allow the slothful to take advantage of your generosity.
Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
God has ordained four institutions with an authority structure to keep things orderly; the family, the government, the business/workplace, and the church. God holds the head accountable for each institution they lead.
2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
Thank God for the second epistle to the Corinthians; without it one could think the Corinthian church was without hope. The church was humbled into godly sorrow which led them to repentance.
2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit to be used by the Lord for his service and work. This should drive us to seperate ourselves from wicked and worldly associations in order to maintain a close walk with God.
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
We are ambassadors for Christ to bring reconciliation between God and sinful man. Therefore we need to be mindful that our life is to represent our eternal home in the kingdom of heaven.
