Bible Qualifications for a Bishop (Part 4) | Pastor Kevin Sepulveda

Men’s Leadership Class – Sermon 5

1 Timothy 3:6-7 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

The devil is always striving to attack the work of God. Inexperienced pastors of bad character will easily fall into Satan’s trap and damage the church they are expected to feed and protect.

Men’s Leadership Class – Sermon 4

1 Timothy 3:4-5 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

Having children is not an optional requirement for a Pastor. The family unit is the primary training ground for the man to gain leadership experience.

Bible Qualifications for a Bishop (Part 2) | Pastor Kevin Sepulveda

Men’s Leadership Class – Sermon 3

1 Timothy 3:3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

Unqualified pastors leave a path of destruction of scattered and hurting flock. The office should be held by one who seeks to strengthen God’s people putting aside fleshly ambitions.

Men’s Leadership Class – Sermon 2

1 Timothy 3:1-2 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

Having the right desire is important in your preparations to hold the office of a bishop. It is not about being served, but to be the one who serves the brethren.

Ordination and Church Planting | Pastor Kevin Sepulveda

Men’s Leadership Class – Sermon 1

Hebrews 6:1-2 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Pastoral ordination is when one man is ordained to the office of a bishop by another man holding that office. He is presented before the congregation and appointed to perform the work.
