Calling Upon the Name of The Lord | Matthew Curnow

Psalm 91:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

Calling upon the name of the Lord is necessary for both spiritual and physical salvation. Believers ought to make prayer a priority in their lives but also overcome wicked living that can hinder those prayers from being heard.

Be Filled with The Spirit | Jason Parkin

Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

It was promised that Jesus would baptise his believers with the Holy Spirit. We must be able to identify churches which are led and filled with the Spirit from those which feign spiritual experiences.

Riches of Their Liberality (2 Corinthians 8) | Pastor Kevin Sepulveda

2 Corinthians 8:2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

One way to show love and fellowship from one church to another is to take up a financial collection in their time of need. But do not allow the slothful to take advantage of your generosity.

God-Ordained Institutions | Pastor Kevin Sepulveda

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

God has ordained four institutions with an authority structure to keep things orderly; the family, the government, the business/workplace, and the church. God holds the head accountable for each institution they lead.

Godly Sorrow (2 Corinthians 7) | Pastor Kevin Sepulveda

2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Thank God for the second epistle to the Corinthians; without it one could think the Corinthian church was without hope. The church was humbled into godly sorrow which led them to repentance.

Golden Calf Religion | Jason Parkin

Revelation 10:10-11 And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

The entire bible must be preached, the sweet as well as the bitter. The golden calf is an example of Israel not receiving the bitterness of God’s word, choosing to create for themselves a false religion of sweetness.

Ye Are the Temple (2 Corinthians 6) | Pastor Kevin Sepulveda

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit to be used by the Lord for his service and work. This should drive us to seperate ourselves from wicked and worldly associations in order to maintain a close walk with God.

The Synagogue of Satan | Matthew Curnow

Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

The Israel of God is the same in the new testament as it was in the old testament; both Israelites and gentiles that were saved by grace through faith. Salvation is by circumcision of the heart and not by circumcision of the flesh.

Shine Out of Darkness (2 Corinthians 4) | Pastor Kevin Sepulveda

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

God has given us the glorious gospel and the light of knowledge to shine in this world of darkness. The hope for our nation is the gospel, your choice is to either help the blind to see or to hide the gospel to those who are lost.
