Today we are pleased to announce a change to our church name, from ‘The Church in Caloundra’ to ‘New Life Baptist Church’.
Back in December 2017 our church became aware that our community could not identify the type of church we were from our name. The decision was made to change the name to something more recognisable and every church member was given the opportunity to submit their best nominations.
A favourite among the children was ‘Battling Satan Baptist Church’. Unfortunately for them it didn’t make the final cut, nevertheless, it is our endeavour to continue battling Satan through the power of God!
The great thing about the name is that it blends well with a little known, yet beautiful hymn called ‘New Life in Christ’. You can hear it in the video below with images from our church:
Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
On the 31st of March 2018 there will be a global effort to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ across all nations. Be part of the soul winning marathon in Nambour on the Sunshine Coast of QLD. This will be a family friendly event meeting at a hall with all facilities available (toilets, kitchen, air conditioning).
For those who are unable to do the soul winning, there will be a short video series on the basics of sharing the gospel. These videos will be aimed at beginners to help prepare them for future opportunities.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The salvation of the soul and certainty of heaven is only available by the grace of God paid by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. The confusion isn’t on what God did for us, but HOW we receive the gift of God. It is received through FAITH, and not by works!
Joshua 1:7-9 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Apply the Bible to your life: Hear the word. Read the word. Meditate on the word. Memorise the word. Study the word. Do the word.
Exodus 17:12 But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
On our first Thursday evening gathering, Pastor Sepulveda expounded upon Exodus 17 and the importance of praying together as a church family.
Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
On our first Sunday we had 66 in the congregation with attendees from Sunshine Coast, Sydney and other parts of Queensland (Brisbane, Gympie, and Ipswich). It was a historic moment filled with great fellowship and praise for our Lord God.
Pastor Sepulveda preached on the great commission given by Jesus Christ to his disciples. The whole church were in agreement with three key church goals that were set in place.
We prioritised preaching the gospel in the suburb of Aroona but also had some teams continue working on last years maps in Little Mountain. An effort was made to pair up most teams with one from QLD and the other from NSW to create new friendships.
Following the morning and afternoon soul winning, we gathered together for a time of worship with three salvation testimonies given from Anthony Griffen, Nathan Martincich, and Pastor Tey.
Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The church exists to fulfil the commandment of the Great Commission as given by Jesus Christ. This can be divided into three key goals:
Preaching the gospel to our community through door-to-door evangelism.
Baptising believers on the authority of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Teaching the church all the counsel of God as found in the Bible.
